There’s no Piglet!
Can you believe this? Because Malaysia is a Muslim country there is no Piglet in Winnie the Pooh. In his place, on the poster and with the happy meal toys there is Lumpy the Elephant.
Who the hell is Lumpy???
This discovery led me to ascertain a long list of anti-pig, anti-dog censorship over the years. Babe never made it to Malaysia. The scene in Pirates of the Caribbean, after the bar fight when the villain ends up in a pigsty: edited out. This year is the Chinese year of the Golden Pig. This only happens once every few hundred years and in amazingly auspicious both for money and births (when I was in Korea there were golden pigs everywhere). Most years, Chinese business people put the astrological animals on their business cards. Not this year. Or in the year of the dog for that matter.
I just feel really bad for poor Piglet.
